Getaway with The Peanut Van May 26, 2008 - Channel 9 travel program Getaway, recently visited The Peanut Van as part of filming in the South Burnett. The Peanut Van was one of many stops across the region and a segment promoting the van and its array of peanut products was recorded. There was excitement all round, particularly for the tourists who visited The Peanut Van during filming taking advantage of a photo opportunity with Getaway presenter, Jules Lund. It is unsure at this point when the segment will be screened however we will keep you posted!

New Flavour Tantalises Tastebuds April 9, 2008 - Our new flavour, Salt & Pepper is now officially for sale. Over the past six weeks, we have trialled the product with our customers and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. We are extremely excited to be able to include this new flavour as a regular product which will be available all year round. Salt & Pepper will be available in 1kg ($11.95), 375gm ($6.95) and 200gm ($4.95) packets. Thanks to our many customers who taste tested the flavour!

Boiled Peanuts Not Only Taste Great! November 2, 2007 - That great Queensland delicacy, boiled peanuts, not only taste great, it seems they could also protect against some illnesses! Research in the United States has shown that boiling peanuts brings out up to four times more of the antioxidant phytochemicals in the nuts that have been shown to protect cells against the risk of degenerative diseases, including cancer, diabetes and heart disease. "Boiling is a better method of preparing peanuts in order to preserve these phytochemicals," said Lloyd Walker from Alabama A&M University's Department of Food and Animal Sciences. The research has been published in the American Chemical Society's Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry. So when you reach for those boiled peanuts at your Christmas office party ... relax, they're probably doing you more good than that beer in your other hand!

Aussie Aussie Aussie! September 18, 2007 - Now there's no excuse for Sunshine Coast residents not to be enjoying the best and freshest Aussie peanuts! The Peanut Van opened a new store on Saturday at Aussie World at Palmview (just off the Bruce Highway). Former Kingaroy resident Paula Groer will be managing the new store which is located in the retail area adjacent to the famous Ettamogah Pub. The Aussie World store joins The Peanut Van's other outlets in Kingaroy, Childers and Chermside. Welcome to The Peanut Van staff newest staff members Lydia Watson and Leah Davis at the Aussie World shop!

Matthew Hayden Opens Brisbane Store! July 10, 2007 - Aussie cricketing hero Matthew Hayden (a Kingaroy lad who surely has peanuts in his blood) officially opened our new The Peanut Van store in Brisbane on July 7. Matthew, (pictured above with Rob and Chris Patch and Bundaberg peanut grower Peter Russo), is a big fan of peanuts ... he even takes them overseas for his teammates when the Aussie XI are on tour! The new The Peanut Van store is located at 725 Gympie Road, Chermside (on the eastern side heading outbound) and features all the great tasting, fresh peanut products direct from Kingaroy. Of course, it's still business as usual at our vans at Kingaroy and Childers ... Psst! We will have some more exciting news soon for peanuts lovers who live in the Sunshine Coast region
